Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combos
Robot vacuums and mops are becoming more efficient, passing our tests of cleaning and tackling different types of floors. Choose models that allow you to choose between multiple modes, self-empty and clean stairs.
Many of the top models work with your smartphone. Look for an application that lets you save maps, schedules, and choose cleaning modes.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
The gunmetal and gloss black Omni S1 Pro from Eufy is one of most impressive mop and robot vacuum combos available. It uses lidar to navigate, and create maps of floors and rooms (even multiple levels), and works with the free Eufy Clean application that lets you set schedules and alter the S1's behavior.
When I tried the S1, it was quick to map our downstairs, which is home to Linoleum flooring in the kitchen/dining room and bathrooms, as well as medium-pile carpeting and a large area rug. It was capable of driving close to walls and even across raised thresholds without issue. However, it had some difficulty getting down the stairs in one pass. The S1 also did an excellent job cleaning hard floors by dragging its mop effortlessly on its flat side against the floor and then lifting its own weight when it reaches carpet or rug.
Prior to each mopping session the docking station on the S1 automatically emptys its dust bin and refills its water tank with clean ozonated filtered water. The dock also adds a cleaning solution to the water to ensure deep cleaning. The S1 water tank can hold enough for 12 mopping sessions, however this will differ based on how often you use the mop.
The S1 requires periodic maintenance, just like other 2-in-1 robots. To do this, you'll need to rinse out the dirty water tank occasionally to keep it from becoming clogged. You'll also need to clean the swivel wheels and sensors regularly to prevent them from becoming clogged with dust or dirt. But, overall, the S1 is easy to maintain, especially compared to other combos that require more care.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
This all-in-one robotic mop and vacuum from Ecovacs is a great choice for your cleaning requirements. The Ecovacs robot vacuum has 8,700Pa of suction, and comes with many unique features, including full home mapping, voice control, and smart path-planning that avoids obstacles and cleans furniture. Its mopping ability is impressive. Rotating mop heads actually lift the floor and scrub it, rather than simply drag a pad across a surface. The mops are also cleaned and dried in the base station when required.
This robot has an easy interface that guides you throughout the process. It comes with an electric hand vacuum that can be recharged for those hard-to-reach areas that the robot isn't able to reach as well as two water tanks that are automatically emptied and refilled when needed. It comes with a variety of settings that can be used to fine-tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does a good job at vacuuming, and has a powerful suction that effortlessly picks up most debris and even the smaller bits of dust that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are pretty robust, however it does sometimes get hung in the small carpets or area mats that I have in my home (which is something you can mitigate by creating a virtual boundary in the app). Its mopping capabilities are also quite good and include a pair of mops which are able to lift and scrub floors, rather than just dragging the pad across it. The mops can also be cleaned using heated water and dried in the basestation whenever required. The mops can also be filled at the top of the station when needed.
3. Dreame X40 ultra
Dreame launched the high-end X30 Ultra earlier this year and their new flagship robot mop and vacuum comes with more impressive features. It has outstanding cleaning performance and hands-off maintenance which makes it a strong contender on our top mop and vacuum robots. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a long side brush ensure a thorough, customised clean.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming and removing large and fine particles from hard floors as well as carpets. It cleaned the dirtiest places of our tests efficiently while avoiding pet hairs and other messes. The sweeping power is enhanced by a side brush that moves out to tackle difficult-to-reach corners, and an extendable mop pad that can be placed alongside baseboards.
Its navigation system is nimble that can navigate tiny spaces and negotiating stairs without stepping back. It can move from one room to another without having to reverse direction. This is useful for homes with a lot of rooms. Its obstacle avoidance system is not as advanced than other models, however, and tends to leave a thick distance around obstacles, which could result in missed spots.
Its app has a streamlined, intuitive interface that should be easy to use for both new and experienced users. The app lets you schedule and control cleanings. You can also adjust suction power, mop setting as well as look up 3-D and 2-D maps. You can control it via the app, Alexa or Google Assistant. You can even tap into the X40 Ultra's camera remotely for real-time video supervision. You'll require a stable WiFi connection to run the app and external controls.
4. Roomba Q5 Pro
Robot vacuums are excellent at removing dirt and debris but they're not able to get every speck of dust. It's important to vacuum often, at least once a week. This is particularly important for dust that accumulates in corners, on shelves, and in crevices in your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro, a 2-in-1 robot that vacuums as well as mop, is made to do just that. It is easy to connect to your WiFI network at home and it works with Alexa or Apple Siri.
Recommended Looking at is a stripped down version of the more expensive S-series models from the company, such as the flagship Roborock S8 maxV ultra. It uses a similar LIDAR mapping sensor, but it saves cost by eliminating mopping and using a less expensive plastic body.
Despite losing the ability to clean your floors, the Q5 offers the most impressive mopping and vacuum performance we've seen from a robotic in this price range. It has powerful 5500Pa suction and an automatic emptying system, which means you don't need to manually empty the bin every time. It also has a clever app that lets you set your floor type and schedule cleanings, as well as an automatic water tank refill and wash system to allow hands-free operation.
The mops are also quite impressive, with 2700Pa of power to take on dust, dirt, and pet hair on hard floors and carpets. The Q5 is among the few robots we tested that didn't show any issues with high-pile carpets or area rug, but it was unable to clean up kitty litter or cable tangles and cable tangles, which isn't a surprise considering it doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is the quietest robovac we have ever tested. It also features a unique mapping system that lets it reach tight corners and corners that other vacuums can't. The device also stores dust in a larger bin which means you need empty it less frequently. It also has washable filters which further reduces costs. This robot can also detect carpets and increase suction if required. You can also mark off areas you want to keep out of the app.
